im curious what people think of a CF hood on a red G3 teg

 

Here's a pic so voters can decide.

 

Since you don't save that much weight with CF It is mostly for looks so I wouldn't paint it. I think it looks good.

Enjoy it while it lasts, b/c I think unpainted CF hoods are going to be one of those "what were we thinking" things in 5 years. Look at mood rings, michael jackson "thriller" jackets, bell bottoms, etc. The Evo 8 has a CF wing, but Mitsu painted it.

 

i think white tegs with amber corners and a CF hood look the best

 

If i were to get a cf hood i would paint it to match my car, so that it doesn't look like i got a cf hood. It's fo saving weight not looks

 

Not sure if it helps but I like my CF hood on my red CRX...

i always equated it with removing weight off a car, where altezzas just added a visual nightmare to a car....

 

Carbon hoods can be rice depending on the car that it's on. CF hood + altezza's + unpainted body kit + slizammed suspension = rice

I should have added......I think they are ricer when they are not painted. It just screams "Oh look at me I have a CF hood" If you want less weight, get the hood and paint it, personally, I enjoy the stealth look. Or, you can do what I did and cut out all the ribbing from the underside of the stock hood. It is as light as many of the CF hoods out there, looks completely stock, is as strong as many of the CF hoods out there, and cost me the price of three cutting wheels. Of course, most of the CF hoods out there are crap, but there are good ones which will be lighter/stronger than my method (like Benon), but they also cost a small fortune.

Hey I know, start a new trend...run without a hood think how much weight you will save then Sorry, couldn't help myself....


Oh, to keep this on topic.....um....paint the hood red in my opinion.

 

keep it black i like the way it looks on a red car. Just don't go crazy w/ a black lip, black sides, etc. Paint everything but the hood and it'll look good.
I think CF hoods make the car look good, keep it unpainted, it will be an eye catcher.

 

i think it looks clean w/ a cf hood, but cleaner oem color.
