Default Mixing head parts!

OK here's the debate: Some people say that mixing and matching valvetrains and cams are not good. You won't produce that much hp as going with the same valvetrains(skunk valves, cams, sprockets) But I've seen people mixing it anyways. Anyone have the answer to that?

The only parts that I would stick to a certain manufacturer on would be valve springs/retainers. Other than that feel free to mix and match.

P.S. That is not to say all brands are created equal.
