Default anyone running skunk2 cams on h22a?

anyone have skunk2 stage 2 cams on their h22a? i was looking at these and just wanted to know how the performance is? is the idle the same? what valve springs and retainers did you use? i was looking at the skunk2 retainers, because they are titaniam but the skunk 2 valve springs are that chrome silicon wire and i don't know how good the perfomance is on these, so i was looking at the crowler springs and retainers. any info on this would be greatly appriciated. thanks in advance.

the idle on the skunk2 stage2's is fine, no different than stock. for springs and retainers id stick w/the skunk2's if your getting skunk cams. mixing and matching parts is usually not a good idea. we only had one car on the dyno that had the skunk2's and it had some problems so we never finished tuning it.

IN regards to mixing and matching, since my head valvetrain are crower, people are telling me not to use crower cams(they break) even though I have skunk 2 stage 1 right now and am upgrading to either crower stage 2 or skunk stage 2 cams. So what's up with that?

I think this rumor about the Crower cams breaking only happen'd on the B-series engines, but these were the first batch of cams for the B-series, now it seems like no one has problems with theirs. As for them breaking, I haven't herd of anyone with Crower cams on an H22 that have broke.

personally i wont ever run anything crower... i have seen several engines trashed by broke crower stuff. valve springs breaking, retainers failing cams snaping.. i mean it could be installer error but there are just too many for me to completly believe that...

on the car w/the skunk2's we dyno'd the balance shaft belt failed and caused the timing belt to jump smashing valves and trashing that motor... the balancer belt just shreded and got cought in the timing belt.. nuthing related to the cams.

IMO if you gona be reving over 8000 rpms remove that belt. rember the balancers spin at 2x the engine speed.

Crower got a bad batch of material and so everyone freaked out about their stuff. Crower stuff rocks....they were making head parts when skunk was shitting yellow....and as for skunk....there are several people on PO with rocker arm and head damage from the overstiffness of the skunk springs and zero people with crower problems.....
