Please explain further as i am confused...cause my speedo doesn't work, but vtec engages with no issues?

Please clarify...i understand that rpm has to work...but 'speedo'...

does your speedometer have to work for vtec to engage. ive been told by many honda guru's that speedometer must work for vtec to engage as it reads off rpm and also speed

i have the same problem, however, my vtec does indeed work. rpms still work, just the speedo doesnt. everything else works perfectly fine.

does your speedo work at all? ex. while driving all of a sudden jumps up and starts working?

mine works and sometimes doesnt. but most of the time doesnt. its a bad connection with the VSS sensor.

check the VSS sensor for greenish discoloration of the metal, resulting from connector corrosion

are you guys using jdm engine harnesses? i was told a while back that the wiring in the jdm isnt identical and that the vss is bypassed or the splice isnt strong enough to power the vtec and the speedo at the same time...and im not sure if the obd1 jdm engines had knock sensors..since vtec is/can be triggered off that as well, or it is vital.........a good electrical shop can probably source it...any techs have better info?

aight. now im gonna go a little further cuz im confusing everyone. i have a 94 lx with a 96 h22a1 . somewhere in my car there is one hell of an electrical problem. my speedo doesnt work and my headlight switch is all fukked up. the parking lights wont turn off with the switch i have to pull the fuse for them to turn them off. i was told the main wiring harness was fried but they have to be getting power from somewhere to be turning on right?.....right! well what im guessing is somewhere under the dash there are a bunch of fried wires stuck together causing my speedo not to work , my poarking lights not to turn off and to throw one hell of an check engine light that never turns off. oh and to top it off when the parking lights are off the check engine light is on. when they turn on...the check engine light goes away......explain that whole paragrah and that ?
