I've had my JUN ultralight for about 2 years now... not a single issue with it. I love the fast revs it gives, and the minimal power loss. I think it weighs about 9lbs, so 8lbs would be OK... don't think I'd go any lighter than that.

edit- minimal power loss= poor phrasing on my part. I mean that it takes no power from the motor. No parisitic drain, or minimal parasitic drain from rotating assembly. That is to say that is has less parasitic drain than a normal "stock" fly. SORRY for the confusion.... it made sense to me when I posted it.....

You will not lose power with a lightened flywheel, what you will lose is inertia, AKA, momentum when shifting. I love how i can practically stop just downshifting

I have a 8.8 lb ACT flywheel with my b16 and i love how fast it accelerates and deccelerates.

Also upgrade your valve springs when going with a lighter flywheel. The more responsive your motor is the more valve spring you need.

thats one of the worst things you can do to your motor we have a great system on our cars called brakes... use them rather then downshifting... WAY tooo much shock to the motor.

I know how to drive my car. I don't downshift into 3rd going 60, I do however downshift the gears to slow down. Way too much shock to the motor? WTF

Rebound time(valve spring) decreases as rate of acceleration increases. So even if you have a stock rev limit, stock valve springs may not be up to the task.

im running clutchmasters 7.5lbs almost same as fidanza and its been great except...

i know it is arguable but i recomend loctite or threadlock of some sort on the flywheel bolts. mine backed out completely. luckily it only ruined my clutch.

I was wondering what everyone thinks about the Exedy Flywheel.

+/- 9lbs + Exedy Racing Organic clutch going on B16a2 with boltons.

Another thing...why would I need to upgrade the valvesprings when going with a lighter flywheel?

So I guess that's why Formula 1 racers, rally racers and all others always go into neutral when they start slowing down... they simply only use their brakes! i was wondering also .. yeah I'm being sarcastic.
So quick question when you slow down for a turn you put yourself out of gear and apply the brakes? so basically your wheels are free to run however they want? I'd hate to be behind you in fast corners...

There is a difference between downshifting stupid, and downshifting catching your rpms as you slow down, using the engine brake as you apply your brakes to slow your car down even more and quicker.~my 2cents that will get flamed here in a sec...

Lighter flywheel=Less Rotational Mass

I got the ACT and love it. The ACT is also Chromoly
