Default JDM DC header and ITR shifter question

I have heard lots of complaints of the JDM DC getting bashed up pretty easily due to it's ground clearance. Is the stainless version and more durible than the ceramic? Also what color is the stock ITR shifter (not the shift **** but the actual lever) Mine is aluminum and I hate the way it feels so Im thinking its an aftermarket one.

The JDM may get bashed up easily, but even the general DC can get basjed up too. I have the ceramic DC headers and I sorta dented mine in, but I can get away with that. I would go with the ceramic so that it won't change colors like a stainless steel one would do. As far as the Type-R shift lever, i'm not too sure. I'm assuming it should be black like the GS-R.

It hangs lower than the oil pan, but not by much. If you go storming into a parking lot where there is a dropoff before the curb, it is possible that you could damage the header. I scraped mine from being careless on a notoriously bad entrance/exit from a mall.

I'm fairly confident that if you are close to the stock ride height, you shouldn't bash it up if you are being careful.

My DC headers hang really low as a result are now dented. Two of them are pinched by maybe 40%. Can they be repaired? I was toying drilling a few holes in it and using a dent puller to pull out the dents, then weld the holes shut. They're ceramic. Should increase the flow, but don't know if it's worth it or not or might just make it worse. Anyone ever repaired headers B4?

Get OEM JDM ITR header if the roads in your neighborhood is rough.

DC JDM ITR header is a great bargain though.

I have the DC JDM SS, and on stock suspension, it shouldnt be a problem with scraping unless you go over a really big speedbump or downcline onto a street. If you add people into the car or a drop, then your chances of scraping the bottom will be increased

Do you have a budget?

IMHO, the best header you can buy (pre-fabricated) is TODA HEADER. Perfect ground clearance and awesome power all the way throughout the powerband.

The best bang for the buck: DC JDM ITR header. (But, gotta watch out for ground clearance)

The best compromise for performance, clearance and cost: OEM JDM ITR header.

For best result, you need at least a V-AFC to get some midrange power increase from these headers.

JDM DC - group buy always has em for less than 300, IM SMSP for a custom cat. your shifter should be chrome plated steel if it is a stock shifter.
