Any of you guys know about how to get your car inspected with the new emission standards in the Dallas area. I have a hondata on my car with a revhard turbo and a ls/vtec setup.

 

go to san antonio or austin. im sure some of the dallas guy s know of friendly inspection places

Hahaha... When I see those up ahead, on the on ramp that on I'm on, I'll turn my car completely off, and let it coast in nuetral until I get past the tester... Then when I feel I'm far enough away, I'll start the car and drive off... It's pretty funny cause when I go through, they look at me crazy cause my car is making no noise... I wonder if that's illegal...

do they ticket you or something if your pulluting or what?

 

yeah I seen it this morning as I drove through the damn thing. There was noone outside the camper. Do they do the testing 24/7 when it is out there or do they have to be out monitoring it?

 

what is this tester truck you guys are talkign about?

 

The tester/truck is a is a way of testing emissionson the public roadways, Usually you will see a trick marked emmisions, there will be some orange cones. They usually mark the onramps to major freeways. They use some type of radar tester. It it setup on both sides of road. I beleive thier is also a camera mounted that snaps a pic before you drive through it. Ima ssuming they would mail you a fat *** fine.

Yeah the other day was the first time i had ever seen on personally in DFW,(with my luck the first day after my turbo install ) but i avoided it twice by just staying on service road on entering on next exit. If they were smart the would put them on the end of like bridges/ramps in the mixmasters where there is no where to go around. Dustin i would imagine that turning your car off, and coasting through would work .
