Default Adjusting adjustable Cam Gears....best way to get to them?

I have AEM cam gears on my 95 GSR. What is the best way to modify things to be able to get to the cam gears on a regular basis, or at least during Dyno testing.

Can you get to them well enough just by leaving off the timing belt plastic covers? Or do you have to hack off the end of the valve cover to allow access? Is there any high chance of harm in leaving the timing belt covers off permanently? You have to remove the back one anyway to allow new cam gears to fit.

thanks
