Default an '89-'91 bseries put into a '88 or '89 integra.

the magazine HCI did a swap with a B17a engine from an 89-91 into a 86-89 integra. they said it's a perfect combonation to make a big time sleeper. they said so becuase the d- series is alot weaker in comparison.
the things required:
1: a good hasport motor mount kit for a b-series
2: (provided by hasport) shorter axles since the others are too long
3: a new shift linkage (from Hasport)
4: mod your header due to shortness. or get a longer aftermarket one.
5: a OBD-I ECU adapter
6: six pin connecter.

they tried this and they said they got great results. now i'm a civic guy, but i've been thinking of getting an integra (1989 2dr that i found for $2,980). has anyone tried this before? is it a good combo? just asking. and is it worth it. I found some great stuff for that engine too. this is just a question. just looking for advice.

(to see more about this, pickup a copy of the october 2003 of HCI hot compacts and imports.)

b17a1 only came in 92-93 GSR's... the 88-89 integra's came in d16a1 forms.. a rip off of zc engine.. i think vtec didnt came around till late 92's.

In my opinion the B16a and B17A engines are too small for the Integra, go with the b18C instead.

IMHO i say don't get the 89 teg, its not worth it unless you really like that car. the G2 is a far superior ride than the G1. your probably better of looking for a 92-93 GSR would probably cost around the same but good luck finding one! and like Xsi said the B17 is a little small for the weight of the DA, B18c would be a better choice.

hey, thanks guys, the b18c sounds good , i do have other choices for a teg, a 96 that i found for $5800. i'll go with that advice. I don't know much about the integras so i might need some tech help in the future if i buy this one. - to the advice givers.

if your helbent on it... make sure to find a 88-89, no rewiring headache because the car is electronic advanced and not vacume like the older CRX's and 86-87 Teggys.

my opinion just find like a g2 teg with no engine and minor body work.. and by a b18c1 <--95 up gsr engine i presume.. and go with that would be a nice *** teg.. and later on do a type r internal upgrades.. minor stuff should have u pack around 190-200hp n/a...
