Default Toda Spec A power band?

can anyone tell me the power band of the Toda Spec A cams...?

I really want a cam that idles normally, and it looks like the Spec B is out...i'd like to raise my revlimit, but don't find it to be worth it to just go to the 8400 R limit...anyone know when the A's stop makin power?

thanks

spec A's will still have the "ON-OFF" type of power the stock cams produce.....because the low lobes "swirl" and are not as high as B's in profile.

8600-9000 is ideal.

And no I ran 12s with the Spec Cs. not As. Never got to run the As.

Speaking of ON/OFF, the wheelspin at vtec was insane.

FWIW, I've been running B's since May, and now that they're tuned in, they are perfectly streetable. My car idles fine now, and would idle even better if I had a full exhaust. The key to running B's is to make sure your car can breathe. At mininum, that means JDM header, oversize cat, and your choice of airbox. Jack's car ran fine with the stock Type R airbox. I'm using an AEM.

Just get it tuned well and you'll be fine with B's. I was going to go the A route as well, but was talked out of it. Needless to say, I have no regrets.

1 - when do ITR cams stop making power?

2 - I'm trying to decide A's and B's, and my main dilemma is that I'm going to be driving back and forth from school to my house (400 miles) as well as locally everyday...I'm afraid running B's wouldn't be ideal here, as well as not helpful to my mpg...

I get 27-30mph combined with spec Cs and large injectors.
30+ easy on highway only.

Nope. Running stock ITR valvetrain. I don't plan on raising rev limiter.

Holy $hit, so you went from a 13.5ish@100 to a 12.5@130?
j/k, I rode in an ITR with spec B's and the idle was fine. -C

I went from 23-24 mpg to 30-32 mpg after my B's were installed.

I'll be running the B's along with Toda inner/outer springs as I'll feel more safe with them. Also, in the future, I'll always have the option to raise the limit if I choose to. I tell ya, looking at those cams sitting in the apartment is enough to drive you crazy

I averaged 33mpg when I had my B's.......If the tuner is competent, B's are perfectly streetable, the key is the low throttle fuel maps....................................

So you already have the cams?!? You better get 'em in there soon!!

I will upgrade the valvetrain in time. It is not a priority at the moment, however.

Yeah, they've been there for 2 weeks! It's enough to drive you mad. Holding off until the valvetrain arrives. Then can do all at once

Good point. No sense in yanking everything apart twice, now is there? Say, you gonna need a cut valve cover for tuning?!? I just happen to have one laying about the pad...

So what about the A's????? It seems as if everytime a question about the A's comes up, all you get is "look at mine .... my spec B's!!"

Can anyone stick with the topic??

Thanks

refer to the 2nd, 4th, 6th posts. in a nutshell, similar low end as stock with a "kick" at x-over, much harder than stock while running out of air a little after 8K. Steve's plot shows this...

Thanx b18CXr - Running out of air alittle past 8000 is very similar if not the same as the stock cams correct? Stockies loose power alittle after 8000 correct?

So is it safe to assume that the power curve will look similar to stock just that after the x-over point, hp curve would be greater?

OK I looked at sgt's graph and cannot determine which curve pertains to the spec a's.
