DaM ECU!!!!
Hey fellas,
So I got my new turbo install....No problem mechanical installation went smooth....BUt the cel popped up....code was p1166 which is o2 sensor malfunction. So i replaced them but still CEL popped up...Took it to the dealer to have the ECU cleared but it still came back....Dealer tells me that the ECU might have been "burnt" out due to previous o2 sensor installation...Is this true can a F23 ODBII ECU be "burned" out or they trying to get me for a ECU....And if I do need an ECU should I do a conversion to ODBI and if so what ECU should I use..
Car is:
2000 Accord F23A 4cyl Turbo
Running in LImP mode..
TURBO IN LIMP MODE IS NO FUN!!!!!!!
I leave it to you guys,
Thanks again you guys always come threw

It's conceivable that just the PO2S driving circuit in the ecu might have gone bad. Sometimes the injecotor drivers on the ecu's go... like when you run peak and hold injectors without a resistor box (or vice versa, I forget)...
It might be repairable by someone good with the ecus, I'd give it a shot.

got any friends with the same car you could swap ECUs with to see if it is in fact the computer?
they show up on ebay from time to time as well for pretty cheap. I got an extra PAA ecu for like $25.

Which code is it throwing. OBD1 eliminates the secondary O2 sensor location, if it's the primary, it's not going to solve your problem.
A kid I did a swap for bought an ecu from the dealer before consulting me. 600 dollars. You are WAAAYY better off, getting them on ebay. I would think it would be all or nothin on the ecu working/not. did you try swapping the o2 sensors front/back.
Did you wire up anything else that might be causing it, is that the stock motor or a swap. (sorry, not an accord guru)
PM me, I'm in CT, and I'm a wiring genius. </modesty>

Both of those codes refer to the primary o2 sensor.

im a honda tech....
possible wrong 02 sensor......where you buy it at? usually if customer replace their own parts.....they get wrong parts.....
possible short in 02 circuit.....i had one previous......cause by 02 sensor wires rubbing against the exhaust pipe....
i wouldn't think cause by ecu.....
