get it, they are nice. Just no A/C and you will need to figure out a new alternator belt.
You probably will not feel the difference alone, but combined with other stuff and it will help

I already took the a/c out of the car so thats not a problem.
is this a performance part that honda made? i would think that type R civics have air conditioning.

I would strongly reccommend against it. Testimony can be had from many people on the BBS forums @ http://www.TOO.com (Endyn): Honda crank pulleys are harmonically balanced, the one you want to purchase is not, and thus it will completely destroy your engine bearings within a couple thousand miles. I wouldn't take a blown engine in exchange for a couple cheap HP.

lmfao
Not quite you have a slight point but no where near destroying your bearings within a couple thou. Bearing wear is more applicable with an aftermarket pulley but over tens of thousands of miles may be a factor. I have one on my car but i race the thing, if you wana go and say that..... anything you do to affect the performance of your car puts more strain on your engine.
Thats like saying you dont wana put an intake on your car because it decreases the purity of the air which is also bad for your engine.
Or like not putting a B series engine in your car because it is heavier and would wear your front springs out quicker.
Its all in what you have in mind for your car and i would rather have my car have more response and be a lil quicker for 50,000 miles and have to rebuild it maybe 5 thousand miles sooner (than i would have to anyway) not haveing my underdrive pully(not oem honda).
on another note that pully is an oem honda part and is balanced for B series motors from honda.

ummm its not balanced??? why would honda put them on their engines if theyre going to mess it up? wouldnt that be just asking for lots of warranty issues?
this pulley came on the base racing civic type-R. this car came with steelies and no options. kinda like the lancer evo's in japan with no carpet with a roll cage in it already.
i have been running this pulley with a 7.5 pound flywheel for about 1.5 years. i race it regularly, and drive it weekly about 300 miles total. i would not say this mod is 100% going to damage your motor. it will probably not last as long as a motor with a factory dampened pulley. but its probably gonna be close. i could see something else failing before anything related to the light pulley.
