turbo ls or jdm type r conversion front end and motor?
I'm trying to decide which I should do, either get a JDM front clip and do a conversion and slap or build my ls completely for a turbo. I need it to still be a daily driver, but i plan on sleeves and block guard and everything if i go turbo. let me know what you guys think

I suggest going with the type-r front end swap for the following reasons:
1: No need to spend $150.00 an hour and 3 hours of tuning, free advice on troubleshooting turbo setups from idiots sucks and you're more likely blow up your engine than fix it making you spend even MORE money.
2: OEM factory coatings on engine components make them last 100k miles
3: Cheaper overall cost of ownership
4: It's a front wheel drive car...do you really want to spend that much on a front wheel drive car?
5: Which aspect of your automotive hobby do you prefer? Fixing or driving?
6: Factory LSD (if you don't know what that is then you definately should go this route)
If you just wanna be fast then just buy a mustang like everyone else...
The more you try to be different , the more you're just being like everyone else.

go turbo, the JDM front end conversion was only cool when a few people had it, now it seems like everyone and thier mom has a JDM front end
OEM kit and built turbo sounds better to me!
That JDM front will only attract haters and theifs and it won't make the car faster either
good luck man !

actually i still beleive that the whole jdm thing is getting out of hand, the other day when i went to pets mart i saw a 60 y/o man step out of a black teg on 18's with a jdm itr front end

whats wrong with a supercharger? just curious. for where i live(in the high altitudes) i would boost. but a supercharger is a little more linear than a turbo and could be a bit smoother for that daily drive. you won't get as much power out of it, but you will get a little better low-range and mid-range response.
if thats a bad idea, go boost.

Im in the same boat... i have the re$ource$ to go either route... i just cannot have the hassel of breaking down. This is my only mode of transportation, and i use it for work, so if the car is down for some wack repair, i loose my job. That is the only reason im a bit sceptical about going boost ... that and popo have nothing better to do but casue **** these days, and a boosted car would grab their attention like nothing else.
I have a built motor with turbo, and I am still contemplating the jdm itr conversion. It completely puts your car in another level of thievery. Meaning parking it in unfamilliar places will surely lead to it getting stolen a lot sooner then if it had the normal 4-eye front end. I would definatly reccomend boost first, nothing like 310 ft/lb to wake you up in the morning.

I vote JDM front end and a 50-75 shot on the ITR motor. That gives you the power WHEN YOU NEED IT, but still seperates you from the 1:1 ratio of Integras on the road asthetically.
I myself and going the other route. Not because I dont want the JDM front end, trust me, I do; but because I'm stupid and put no face value on money. I'm going to blow about $8000 or so on a built 2.0L LS Turbo setup this winter. Which I will probably end up blowing up because I will beat it to death.
Why not I mean? I hate seeing old farts in Ferrari's just because they can. Give me a Ferrari, I will redefine the phrase "you cant outrun the radio..:
But, I just love cars. I love racing, I love building them and I just simply love doing anything involing them. So I don't mind fixing what I break

Heres what i would do. Im assuming you have about 3-4 k to spend.
Forget bulding now, why waste the stock motor whne the LS handles boost well. People are making 250-300 on stock ls motors. Plenty fast for a street car.
1) go turbo/stock motor
2) get oem kit to satisfy your mood to freshen up body
3)put 1k in bank and dont touch it, If your motor blows buy the beater with the 1k you saved.
4) then decide on how you want to rebuild, the worst part in building amotor is having to be rushed.
Don't get me wrong i love the jdm front, but I have had a turbo gsr stolen and im not out to attract any more attention Im all go then sho(if any). Jdm front is nice but you can get a turbo kit for cheaper than the jdm front.
My idea finds away for you to have a fast reliable daily driver, and not have to worry about losing your job

Jdm itr front clip...
I don't see jdm front ends all over the place...the reason you think everyone has them is because you look at the h-t cosmetics forum and happen to see the few people posting their pics...maybe you go to car shows, i don't know. I think i've only seen 2 in person outside a car show, both in austin, tx...one was a boosted gsr and the other is my friend's cw type r, props vincent.
However, being that i don't have either one (boost or jdm itr front clip), i can't be too discriminating...

I couldn't tell from the original post if doing the JDM front included the R motor, but.... This is similar to the "Spend MY Money" threads we get at Team Integra. If you want to be cool then just do whatever anybody tells you. If you want to be happy then do what YOU feel you really want.
