Default I got what is supposed to be an R tb... How can I tell other then measure?

Are there any marks on the TB that would indicate its from a type R or is the only way to tell to measure it? It "looks" like its the same bore as a 60mm tb, but thats at the opening. Its mounted on a type R intake manifold and I can feel a small lip past the butterfly where the TB is slightly smaller then the opening on the intake manifold. I am pretty sure it should be the same if it were indeed 62mm. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
