Modified AEM CAI huh? What did u do or what has to be done to get this thing to fit???

uh, sorry i never got back to you - was in crisis mode. all i know is that i have a first generation gsr aem cai that came with a giant filter that attaches to a cool air horn. my tubing came in 2 pieces: a short elbow that attaches to the tb then the next tube travels up a little, then straight thru the engine bay then down, etc.(duh). like many people, the bolt that holds...uh, the support bracket bolt broke in half many years ago - never fixed it. so basically my tubing probably flops around to some degree, but no weird sounds and i keep an eye on the dent caused by the ac lines. i'm telling you all this because i don't know if this mod will work with the support bracket bolt in it's usual position. basically, where the second tube begins and travels up a little is hacked off. took everything all apart last night so maybe i can take some more pics (you looked at the existing ones on my site?). i will be using this opportunity to remove the bypass valve and may consider using it this winter, though i can see a tear in the delicate foamy filter part. luckily i paid only thirty something for this fragile, piece of mind, doo-hickey (which was recalled).
