O2 sensor universal
My 96LX is throwing a CEL. The code came out to be 65, secondary O2 sensor. I was going to buy a universal O2 sensor from Bosch. It cost $70 bucks. An OEM style costs $180-240.
has anybody used an universal in this?
Are all 4 wire O2 sensors the same? Meaning, I can take a 4 wire sensor off my Accord and put it in a Ford Explorer, and as long as I wired it up correctly, the sensor will work properly. I would assume all 4 wire sensors output the same range of voltage signal no matter what the application was.

yes, it will work. I have replaced both of mine with generic O2's from autozone. As long as you keep the same length of wire as the oem one and solder and heatshrink the connection.dont make the connection too big,(no crimp-connects). just twist the ends together and solder. this method will create less resistance inline.
awesome. thanks for the info. any other tips? i should be able to just use the an O2 socket and be fine right? any clearance issues?
I crawled under the car yesterday, but I barely had enough clearance to see.. so I went out and bought some ramps last night.
