so ive found a set of H&R sport springs, a guy bought for his '99 honda civic SI coupe. Will these fit on my '97 honda civic hatchback? will the spring rates be the same? if not, will my car be lower/higher ect? what should i expect if i pick them up?? thanks..

The are different part numbers, and b/c of the added weight of the b16 in the SI, the ride height in the front might not be as low as advertised. I don't know if the ride height difference will be stupid looking, or barely noticable though.

 

itll lower your car a little, but i doubt it will be as much as you want.

 

Well, i have the 99-00 SI H&R springs on my '00 EX Coupe (with D-series). I was worried that the drop would be "funny," but everything turned out very nice. The shop i bought them from convinced me to get the ones for the Si over the EX, due to a better spring rate. So, i took a chance, and listened to him, even though i also talked with kingmotorsports.com (authorized dealer of H&R) and they said NO.

The only thing i've noticed lately is that the back-right wheel gap is slightly higher than the back-left side. I'm not complaining, though, because it's not very noticeable unless you physically measure each side individually. Also, this happens to a number of people with civics, and i've read a lot possible explanations to this such as uneven weight of the D-series engine, etc.

Yeah thats common among Civics. The gas tank is on that side of the car.

 

i also have the si springs on my ex coupe. i think it's a great drop. no complaints here. the reason i got the si springs is because the shop was having a sale on em.

 

hmmm..i just dunno.. only worry i have is that im goin from coupe to hatch, so there will be quite a weight difference..

 

seriously...all springs say how low they're gonna drop your car. but, H&r 2in drop springs are still different from eibach 2in drop, the same with every spring out there. just get coilovers and drop your car "however you want it"
