Default Auto-X owns me at AZ Border Region Solo2

Went to my first auto-x event today and all I have to say is WOW. Hard **** to pull good times.

Overview of my budget setup:
R1 coilovers, dropped bout 1.5 inches
KYB AGX shocks (Went full hard for my runs)
Front and Reat strut bars
Yokohama Avid H4 tires 185/65R14 on HX wheels (28.5 psi all around)
Rear nuts&bolts camber trick
Mostly stock stock d16y5 engine, manual

Fast time was 45 secs, I think, my best would have been a 54 but I had too many deviations. I did horrible on my 2nd and 3rd run, especially the second. My last run was clean (thank god) and I ran a 59. I was very embarresed.

Anyway, what I found out that's true in auto-xing:
-Brake HARD, and not while turning
-Wear Sunscreen
-ANALYZE the course, on the map and when walking
-Everyone runs Falken Azenis (mostly on SSR comps)

Anyone have any ideas on what to do for my next auto-x appearnce, other than drive better? Do most people suck on their first time?

the best thing you can do is get more "seat time"

I guess that pretty much goes with anything you're learning, but the process seems that it'll take awhile and until then it's embarrasing.
