i know synthetic oil is suppost to have longer wear compared to normal oil, how many miles are yall driving with the synthetic before changing your oil?

 

3K miles....same as conventional oil

 

3-4k depending how many are hwy miles.

 

7.5k...jiffy lube made up the 3k mile thing to make $$$ imo

 

Approx 4k or so on Mobil1. Depending when there is other work I need to bring it in for. I may be wrong but I think the owner's manual says 7.5k and the local dealer says 3750 for hard driving, which we never do here.

funny...acura manual says 3.7k

 

5500 on mobil 1, if im lazy.. 6000

 

I've been a die-hard synthetic user for the last few years and I think I am going to switch to regular oil. I did an oil change with it and I have not burnt any oil and I'm almost at 3000 miles. When I use syn I am usually .5-1 quart low.

 

every 3,700 with royal purple

 

3-4k, always. Synthetic or regular, doesnt matter. I wouldnt wait any longer than 5k. 5000 mile old oil is due for a change, no matter what the composition, if you ask me.

 

3-4k on Redline Synthetic.

I don't know about that... I due believe or heard its recommended at 2500 for harsh conditions (which is city driving). I change mine 2,500-3,500 depending on whats going on in my life. and at that its black as hell and THICK... wonder what it would look like at 7.5k!

We've heard that castrol syntec does not burn (from people who used mobil1, burned oil, and then switched to castrol syntec) so we might try the castrol next time around .

for mobile1 syn i think i usually pay $4 a quart...i forgot exactly, but comes to around 20 w/oil and a filter.

 

I go for about 7500 miles before changing my oil. I went 8000 miles last oil change.

 

Whoa! I was paying $9 a quart for Redline, and finally decided to just buy it by the case directly from Redline, so Im paying around $8 dollars a quart now.

 

for me it's 4k miles with a little loss of oil(half a qt)

 

whenever o have time or 6000 miles

 

3-4k... its also important to change the filter in these intervals as well.

 

I change my oil at ~6000 miles...when the maintenance required light flashes. I need to change my oil soon cuz the light started flashing and i turned it off...

 

castrol says to change syntec every 5k or so... i change every 2500-3k... never burnt any oil....

and i get syntec by the barrel... hehehe.. and cheap too... it pays to be castrol's best retailer in south florida!..

 

religiously @ 5k miles every time!
