I just picked up #98-1002 on Wednesday. I had a test pipe laying around my garage from another project so I decided to get under the car and see what it would take to put it in. I've got 1 O2 sensor in the header before the cat, and it looks like that's the only one! I don't see any other O2 sensors in the cat at all..... I check the ECU thinking maybe someone converted it to ODBI already, but its a P73 ECU..... I don't have any CEL. I'm very confused......

 

find where the secondary o2 wire/plug comes out, then trace the wires to the o2 sensor.

someone may have taken it out of the cat and wrapped it in foil or something as they too may have been running a test pipe.

 

Could be a chipped ecu. Mines dont have the second O2 anymore.

You have an OBD2 chipped ecu?

Does your CEL come on during start-up, I've seen ppl that have clipped/removed the bulb

Yes I have a chipped/reprogrammed OBD2 P73 ecu.

Why would my CEL come on during start-up (Everyting is fine with my motor)?? Why clip/remove the CEL bulb, it still functions the same as an unchipped ecu.

I dont need an O2 simulator. The second O2 has been programmed out. (I have the second O2 sitting on the top shelf of my tool box)
