EBC brake pads
Anyone here use the "green" ones? how do they compare with the OEM ones. I assume way better. Worth the price?
I probably need to replace my pads when I do my 60k mile service. I think the price difference between OEM and the EBC ones were $10 (EBC being more expensive)
My calipers are red....will any of the green show? I don't want it to look like x-mas colors.

I don't have any first-hand experience with EBC pad, and that's because many, many people on this board advised against getting them. I've got Hawk HPS and like them alot -- good for street and occasional auto-x. Other folks seem to be happy with AEM pads and Metal Masters.
I used them for almost a year. I took them off when I started doing track days. For street use, if you bed them in properly, you shouldn't have any problems. These pads do dust like crazy, though. You'll be washing wheels every other day. When bedded in, they stop like crazy (over stock), even when cold.
Would I recommend them? I don't think so. I had no problems with them, but I like my Hawk HP+ even better. Even better stopping power.
If you look at your caliper/pads now, you'll see that some of the pad does show through the caliper. You could always paint the back of your pad with high-temp paint. But in my opinion, the pad & caliper will be so covered with dust, you'll hardly notice.

I had the EBC Greens. Good for the money. Nice initial bite, linear brake feel, easy on the rotors (this is good if you're running slotted rotors), not as much dust as the stockers but still dusty, and perfect OEM quality fit.
Only bad thing I can say is that they wear down faster than stock. The fronts lasted a little over 25,000 mi., but the rears are still on my car with a good amount of pad left.

I have had them for about 6 months now and used them at Willow Springs once. They do dust alot, but a small price to pay for great stoping power. For the money they are a good pad, and I havn't had any noise from them at all.
