Yesterday i was talking to a guy from new york that just moved down south about cars. he said that he has done alot of swaps in the past and he asked what i was doing with my car. i told him that i wanted to go n/a on m d16 or swap for a b18c1. he asked how much i was getting the c1 for and i told him 3800 installed. he told me that he could get them for 1500. i this bullshit or do you think he is telling the truth. he said that he worked for a shop so im not sure if he is for serious or is he just trying to steal it

in most cases...when its too good to be true...it probably is....he can easily sell a b18c1 for over 2500....easily!! Why would he want to sell a motor for 1500 if he can make another extra grand...Only reason..its probably hot....he may deny it..but underneath the truth..there is something that has to be wrong with that motor...whether its stolen...etc....you have to understand..he's just concerned with making 1500...not looking out for you ***....be careful.

well i got my usdm b18c1 yesterday for $2200canadian minus valve cover and injectors. complete swap other then that. i got it from a wreckers that sponsers a rally team i am pretty close with though and my friends and i have spent about $10000 there in the last month or so on motors and parts. but $1500 defanitly sounds cheap.

Junkyard doen in Corpus had a 99 B16A2 complete minus tranny, wanted $500 for it. Deals can be found, but that guy doesn't sound like he had one, other than for himself and your money.

Well, i'm not sure about where you live, but I know a couple of shop around my area that will sell gs-r swap for like $1500-$1800 for a complete swap....It's not like an everyday thing, but when they get a swap in that's the price they sell it for and provide papers with vin # for it. If you can get the guy to sell it to you with vin # and paper then it really wouldn't be bad. That's just my opinion though.

 

Are you sure that the guy was talking about a complete swap. It sounds like he just wants to be a big shot, and say he can get a better price than you. Just let him keep talking out of his ***.
