Default Car won't start w/o laptop...need help from alarm installers who know Clifford & cliffnet

After programming with the cliffnet, my engine/starter kill has somehow been reversed. When DISARMED my engine kill is active (relay opens) and my car won't start. But when armed (relay closes), I can start my engine. I know b/c I can toggle the immobile and not immobile button on the diagnostics screen and I even disconnected the plug from my starter interrupt and tested the continuity or lack there of.

So here's the question, is it possible to alter normally open/closed of the internal (ignition/starter)relay of the cyber 4?

I can't find such a setting and it's hard to believe that you can program a relay...

My alarm was working fine before I hooked it up to cliffnet. But it is kinda cool having my laptop as an mandatory accessory to starting my car, hehe But really, I want to be able to start my car with the key only.

I don't know the Cliffnet and stuff, but an option for you would to be get another Bosch style relay (like DEI 8616) and have the brain connect to 85 and connect the other end to positive (or whatever it needs). Then run pin 30 to ground (the common pin) and 87A to the wire on the starter kill relay where the brain is connected now. This would pretty much flip what it's doing now, so even though the brain is enguaging the starter kill in the disarm mode, the new relay would "flip" the signal to the starter kill relay, allowing the car to start, and vise versa. A little PITA but like I said I don't know Cliffard Alarms, just DEI's vipers and etc.

sounds like you messed with a setting, i forget what the programing is for that specific alarm, but call dei or email them. and they will tell you how to change back the original setting. you did exactly what you said.. you switched it to normally open/closed ..
