Shouldve bought a RSX. You can gain 40 horsepower by putin on a RSX type S head. Thats a good start, i wouldnt spend money on the 160 HP k20. Do the head swap and then all further mods will yield better improvements. I think all you need is the head, exhaust manifold and ECU. Not cheap, but y spend the same on bolt ons just to equal a RSX type S motor?

hondata yields good numbers on k serries motors with only minor mods as well.... thats something to look into after some bolt ons

do basic bolt ons until u get a feel for tha car and wat u want to do with it and improve on. do a basic exhaust, CAI, headers and hondata and see if u can find simple cams and camgear and retainers and such that dont need a bump in the compersion to get tha full power out of them. personally i would do a tha exhaust CAI and headers then worry bout doin a good suspesion and brake set-up.

The bottom end is the same K20 in the RSX type S and your civic. This head swap was covered recently in a mag, Honda TUning i think.

cool.. thanks... i just got my injen intake.... and i was thinking about buying a header... so if i do the head change.. my header wont work on the new head.. so i'll have to save some money for the head, header and ecu... ohh one question.. do i need the key with the new ecu?? cause my key wont work on it

The casting may be the same, but the internals are not. Swapping the head, manifolds, and ecu will not yield the same power numbers as a stock RSX-S.
