Default Sunroof is stuck open (I already searched)

I went to close my sunroof today and as I got out of the car I realized that the sunroof was not shut all the way. I got back into the car to shut the roof and it wouldn't shut. I backed up the sunroof and the bolt that attaches the panel to the slider had come out. I put the bolt back in and tried to shut the sunroof manually and it will only go to halfway before getting stuck. Does anybody have any ideas? I really appreciate any help because my sunroof is now stuck open and I need to drive my car. TIA

-Justin

is it an Si with the power moonroof? If it is, theres a circular plastic piece that comes out near the back of the sunroof on the headliner........take that off and theres a gear u can turn to manually close the moonroof

while standing next to your door, Lift up the back of the sunroof and push the close button for move it pass half way. Then from the back view of your sunroof, try to align the rails back on track. . To fix this, You just have to unbolt your sunroof and replace the black plastic clips on the rails of the sunroof pannel.

Well, I am no longer having a problem with the stuck sunroof. However, this is not a happy story. I was driving to my dad's house to work on it when all of a sudden I hear a tupperware pop and see my sunroof panel fly up almost 30 feet in the air and crash down on the interstate. Luckily it wasn't mangled too badly and we got it back on the car. Now the sunroof opens and closes fine. Does anybody know a good place to get a replacement panel for cheap? Thanks

Justin

to remove the whole assembly take the headliner out and there are around 8 bolts(+ or - a couple, I dont remember its been awhile) that hold it in, its pretty easy to remove

All you guys need to read a shop manual, spend some time doing what it says, and you will probably be able to fix your problem---- That's how I do it. More than likely, you need to remove the sunroof and tighten screws or replace broken parts, and reinstall. Most problems I have seen are caused by a loose screw. Hope this helps>
