Default Is there a way to tell the year of a motor?

I have a GSR motor in my hatch, but I'm not sure what exact year it is, and I'm curious to find out. Is there any place on the block where I can find the year of my engine?

is it a usdm motor? if so check the VIN. 10th position of the VIN is the year made.

I dont know if USDM motors were stamped the same as JDM motors, but on my B18C head there are three round markings, as far as i can remember the middle one indicates the year, the first one indictaes the month of manufacture
