I was looking at craftsmanship and it being more functional than stock...but the price was unbelievable in my opinion.......sold for about 120 bucs

The question is, why do they never show the TOP of the manifold? they always show the underside, and even from the underside, it looks stupid as hell

Other than the posibility of having to modify the manifold a little to get it to fit, I'd say it's probably no different than a very expensive one. The price is only because OBX has not yet made it in the world as Venom, JG, etc have.....one upon a time people laughed at them too *shrug*

I would have to see it in person and take some measurements before I make a choice. It looks like there is a nice bottle-neck where the throttle body bolts up. I'll bet the Y8 I/M is better...

I am d16a6 turbo with port polish'ed head.....wanting to upgrade the throttle body too but I figured for the $$$ that manifold was real nice looking.

someone on homemadeturbo.com, zexrex, got one, and put it on, big pita, read:

have the ssautochrome exhaust manifold (a copy of obx but not obx, it has bracing) i got the flange milled and it fits, but the wastegate is in a shitty place.

the intake manifold for d16a6 is what im talkin about. it is such a pile.

heres what i did to it:
-Cut shorter
-Grind out the welds and dent the runners around the head bolts
-Have the flange milled flat
-Have the flange modified to fit the head. You will see where it is ground down by the injector bosses on the manifold I send you.
-It has no provisions for the fast idle control valve. This sensor comes on 89-91 crx’s but not 88’s. All that will happen without this sensor is that if the engine is revved when cold a check engine light will be displayed. Also the idle will not be as smooth.
-There is an extra coolant bung on the left side of the manifold that needs to be welded shut or plugged.
-Only 3 bolt holes line up on the throttle body flange (I just drilled a new hole)
-Comes with the wrong throttle body gasket
-Solder extensions for all the sensor wires on the intake manifold
-Get all new longer vacuum hose and coolant hose (because stock isn’t long enough.)
- Most importantly there should be proper provisions for bolting down the fuel rail. This could cause a serious fuel leak and lead to a car fire.

2 reasons i didnt install it were:
1) fuel rail didnt bolt up for ****.. i couldnt even drill new holes for it, the mounting bar is way off center.
2) the top of the intake flange by the injector bosses hits the head (causing it not to seal), i ground it down but if i grind anymore i would doubt the integrity of the injector bosses.

i will cut their flange off and weld a stock zc (or bseries) one on later.. that will fix both problems.

pics are here: http://www31.brinkster.com/crxx/zexrex.html
****** bandwith limited tho.

i think obx should stick to type r tissue boxes and seatbelt pads, even pedals might be too hard for them.

i would rather drive a domestic than put an obx product on my car.

OBX has some pretty decent products actually...I don't know what's up with the manifold install, that does sound pretty crappy, but dude says its not an OBX,its a copy of OBX.I've got an OBX lower tie brace, and it's beefy as hell and for about a bill less than DC Sports.I remember before Skunk2 blew up,I thought man,who would buy a product named after the smelliest creature on the planet? Now they're the shizznitt...the point being, you don't need to have a strut bar,or a cast chrome ballast neurolizer,or whatever with *insert fancy, overpriced name here* on it to be cool...there's alot of great products out there from companies just getting started.
