Default SCCA Race Class for 2000 Civic Si

Is show room stock the only class I can run with a 00 civic si under SCCA? If so then would my car be acceptable under the current rules? The car is basically stock (except aftermarket wheels with the same diameter as stock) but parts of the interior had to be removed (rear seats, panels, headliner, and sunroof) to accommodate the welded cage.

I mailed in my order form today for the GCR, but I was wondering if anyone knew off hand. I just don't want to be stuck with a car that can't run in any race groups, which won't help me if I have to race in at least two regional races after receiving my novice permit in order to get my regional license.

Thanks for everyone's help. It looks like I won't be able to run in showroom stock because of the interior. I guess I'll just use the car for the school time and then use it later in either Honda Challenge or pour out the big bucks for a national race. Time for a new constuction project for regional.......

The entire interior does have to be there for SSC, so that will be a problem. The 99-00 Si was recently listed in "Limited Prep" Production, which would be equal parts interesting and expensive. It was requested that the '99 Si be listed in IT (no question it will end up in S) but the decision was tabled for consideration at the end of the year. The '00 will be age-eligible for IT in 2005, if I'm doing my math correctly.

So I assume that if the car will be eligible in IT, it will also be concidered in IT2? I guess if I plan on either attending the school this year in October or the beginning of next year I should be able to have enough time to race in two regional races within the 2 year time frame. Assuming that either the request is granted by the end of this year or I make sure I get both races in during 2005......

Even if IT2 were to actually happen on any major scale (and that continues to be a longshot), this generation of Si falls outside of the specification parameters defined for the class. It's just a little too good.

This wouldn't stop me from buying an SSC-prepared version however, if I could find one for a resonable price.
