Yup - it's another poll. With all the theft reports recently, I was wondering if anybody has a Type-R that has never been interfered with in any way. I have been relatively lucky so far - just an egging with a small amount of paint damage.

 

I voted for a friends car. 97 ITR in high theft areas, never even been egged. It doesn't have an interior, just two seats, dash and rollbar, perhaps that helped? But emblems, wing, etc all there 4 years later.

 

Been lucky so far...as it only comes out to play at the local autox's.

 

Going on 6 months and no problems so far unless you count little door dings of which I have 3 already. FYI, mine is daily driven.

My ITR is a door ding magnet apparently. My red Prelude I had for over a year and not a single door ding.

 

I've had mine a year and a half and not a single problem. But I never take it out to sketchy places and I live in a nice neighborhood. It's also stealthy black.

 

This post can bring me nothing bad bad mojo....

 

over 3 years no problem...I don't take it anywhere it shouldn't be...

only a couple door dings...

 

I got towed once... but I was parking where I should not have been (my host told me it was ok to park there in spite of the signs...). As a consequence of that, I got a big kick-dent in the FL fender. Grrr...

Other than that - never been messed with. If only I'd have parked in the street...

 

I take mine anywhere and everywhere.I havn't had one single problem.I figure for the money I spend on insurance I am going to drive this damn thing anywhere I please.If it get's stolen ohwell.If some keys it or some gay **** like that then I will be pissed but there is nothing I can do about it.Unless I catch them

 

My car gets egged every time there is a 3 day weekend at the local high school. But it was the same with my old cars too.

'95 Eclipse - keyed x2, egged x5, tires slashed, finaly stolen.
'99 Infiniti G20 - egged x 3.
'00 Type-R - Broken into 2nd week I had it, egged x2

Not a problem yet (almost 8 months old), except I can't go anywhere without at least three people challenging me to a race.

Everyone that yells at me is very positive and they love the car.

 

No problems yet. Knock on wood.

 

Two months after I bought mine somebody walked around it and PUNCHED almost every body panel at least twice. AAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
Other than that, no problems.

 

the obligatory daily-driver door dings. i have about 3. people have no respect, for any vehicle . . . but no clue most of the time.

 

1) broken into
2) broken windshield (doesn't really count - rock kicked up on the hwy)
3) egged ($2k damage)
4) hit and run in parking lot
5) spoiler stolen

I didnt know eggs were that lethal to paint jobs.

How about owning a brand spanky new ITR for 4 months and have a friend total it?

But before that...

Had someone try to steal my honda badges but as you know, they are stuck on really well and was left with a few scratches.

Got a rock chip on the front windscreen while tail gating another ITR @ 220km/h!

I hate to hear this stuff.

I live in a relatively safe place compared to most it seems. I could leave my car parked on the street in front of my house unlocked and windows down and it would be ok all night.

That doesn't mean I don't keep her in the car and car pool with the wife most days (in the Jeep Cherokee)

 

Parked outside nightly (in a high traffic but otherwise nice neighborhood), and only problem so far was that someone tried (unsuccessfully) to yank the front badge.

Eggs are absolutely deadly to paint. I think it's the protein in them that actually attacks the paint and eats its way through. Once the egg is dry, not a damn thing in the world you can do but repaint.

 

Mine is fine too...discounting the door dings which seem to gravitate towards my car. I currently have 2...of which one is from an suv right on the passenger door handle. Damn I wish I would have noticed when the car was parked next to me.
