Ok I am about to start my car, I just installed my new comptech ss header. I used latex gloves while installing it, but at the end they ripped and some prints got on the header. How should I remove these so that they don't discolor the header? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

 

You could use some rubbing alcohol on it; it should do the trick! Hope u enjoy the header

 

if its SS it will turn a purplish color once its heated up. But yeah for fingerprints rubbing alcohol will do just fine

 

thanks guys, I used rubbing alchohol and it did the trick. Now, it is that nice gold color . Gold color comptech header :drool:

 

i thought i heard something about rubbing down the header w/a rag lightly soaked in clean motor oil. WHat does that do? i can't remember.

 

it makes a bad smell when you start up the car...

lol just use rubbing alcohol.

 

They said it makes the metal turn a nice golden color.

 

I used the rubbing alchohol and it took care of the prints, also, the header turned that nice golden color. Thanks for the help.
