Running a hf mpfi manifold on dx motor with pm8 ecu
I have a mpfi crx hf manifold and I want to convert my dx over to mpfi.. I have all the stuff to do it but my question is this.. Since the pm8 ecu is setup for the hf which is a 8 valve motor.. Will converting my 16 valve dx over to the hf stuff make the engine run lean.. I am eventually going to burn a chip and run the pm6 chip on the pm8 ecu but until then will it run lean..

I would save the TPS sensor off the HF throttlebody and recycle the rest of it..
For all the work involved,I think you should go ahead and find an D16a6 intake..
That way you won't be disappointed when you get done.

PM8s are unchippible with out a adapter board, http://www.pgmfi.org look around their and someone is selling them, if I were you i'd get rid of the HF parts and get Si parts, thats what I did, except I decided to keep the HF exuast manifold for the IHI RHb5 turbo thats sitting infront of me
The 90-91 pm8 is a chipable ecu just like the pm6.. They both run the same code.. As far as a D16 motor, I dont have one.. Currently I have the dx d15 and the hf d15 motors.. Im just trying to get something working for now because im building my new B16 motor but it cost time and money.. These are the parts that I have right now.. I wanted to use the pm8 to play with the datalogging and fuel map tuning under boost..
Im kinda hearing mixed things about this one.. Some people say that you need a adapter board and others say you can chip it.. There might be different versions of the pm8 that are different.. Im not sure, I pick up my hf parts on sunday so ill let you know then..
You'll prob. go slower with the HF intake manifold... Wait till you go to swap the intakes, and see the port difference... MPFI is better, but not worth the loss of intake size IMO...
the HF EVERYTHING is mad small... 58Hp stock.... you wanna put that on your car ?
