what kind of set-up are u aimin for? the basic ls/vtec set-up or just swap the head and get it to work
basic set-up=
usdm itr piston in LS block with shotpeened rods
gsr/itr oil pump
b16/gsr/itr head complete
oil line t-fittin kit to feed oil to the head from the block externally
u really don't need a distributor yours will be fine just modify itchopped off one of the legs
gsr head studs/arp head studs even better
just swapping heads u need everything posted above except piston shotpeened rods
in cause you wandering waht shotpeened means it means they shoot thousands of marbles at the rods to compress metal in there to gather which in terms make it more stable and stronger
correct me if i am wrong........
if you are planning to keep stock bottom end and jsut poppin a vtec head on and trying to get it to work i suggest
go with a GSR head cause it yields more compression than the b16 and itr head
cause it will help out alot since your compression is low it will raise it quite a bit with high liftin cams you need comrpession to make some power out of them
think about it as this LS piston are 9:2:1 cr right
you put a GSR head on stock you be at 9:4:1
then u could mill the head 30 thousandths you be around 9:7:1
then you could even run like a 2 layer Mugen head gasket you be at 9:9:1-10 flat
with that you can compare to a stock GSR compression and really have the upper hand
and run a p28 with a mugen/skunk2/vision program
or your could run a apexi vafc with a chipped LS ecu with a higher redline i suggest Spoon chip i think its redline is 8200 which is cool for LS/VTEC you don't want to go higher than that anyways and then run the vafc and adjust your vtec point Spoon's chip makes your fuel map alittle more aggressive too

oh yeah get some ITR/CTR cams they are worth the money assumin you are using an LS tranny so you be at a disadvantage these cams will put you back into playing field..........and vtec will roar loud scream
This thread title just scream lock me. This has been discussed so many times. Its called the search function. Recent and Archived.
