Default 2.4i-VTEC from TSX into EP3?

anybody think thatd be a worthwile swap. the 2.4 from the TSX has like 200hp and a 6 speed, plus a little more displacement than the k20a. would this be worth trying if you had more money than you knew what to do with?

If you had more money than you knew what to do with, why would you drive a civic?

I have not even seen any prices for K24A2s (I think that is the engine code).

I sold my EP3-R for an Accord Type S ( Acura TSX 2.4l ) last week.
I know the car is alot more heavy than the EP3-R, but I'm not sure if you really want the engine to be put into an EP3.
The engine seems to weight alot more.

I'd go for the EP3-R engine ( RSX 2.0l ).

If you were into social responsibility you'd be riding a bike and/or driving some sort of hybrid vehicle.

And good taste... with a civic? Hardly

I fear this is one of these pipe dream type topics.

It makes the car a lot funner to drive. And then supercharge it.

This would be an interesting GDD topic - care to fire it up?

From what I hear it's a fairly straight-forward swap. This guy from ephatch.com did the swap: http://ephatch.com/forum/showt...t=K24

Fairly straight-forward, how about couldn't possibly be any easier.

How would it make it sic[funner] to drive? because it has more horsepower? if you want horsepower pick up a mustang or camero. if you want a better driver's car that definitely isnt the way to go.

Anyone look at his dyno. The stock k24 put out 137whp stock?! The engine is rated at 200...137 is pretty damn low.

With IHE it put down 161 which sounds better, but I would expect 161 or more with a stock engine.

Oh...he said it was the CRV engine...not the TSX.

That makes me happier.

Guess what, it makes it a better driver's car too. It is definitely the way to go.

Speaking from experience, it is probably worth 3+ seconds a lap at PIR on the road course over the stock motor. And probably worth a second or more a lap over an EP with an RSX Type S engine.

After the supercharger it is probably gonna loose another 1 to 2 seconds.
