4.5 liter twin turbo beast... tow capacity is 7716 lbs.

few more at http://www.ghettoracer.com/cars/porsche/cayenne
i drove a Cayenne S at Thunderhill recently, wasn't too impressed. but a friend rolled up in a Cayenne Turbo last night so I gave it a little work out. I'm impressed! It's a dope *** tow 100k vehicle. haha. It can more than hold its own at the track. It is decently fast from low speed to 60 (porsche says 0-60 in 5.6 sec), but once the 5400 lbs beast gets rolling, the 60-120 feels much faster. Handlings on the Turbo is much better than S, and brakes are typical of Porsche - KICKASS. Man... this car can spank lots of cars at the track.
I love the dash, the display is super clear and LCD has tons of info. this is the only SUV I would own (if $ is no object).
ps, browsing the specs on it http://www2.us.porsche.com/eng...t.htm
no fuel consumption info yet. gas tank is kinda small at 26 gal.

that's what i thought too, until i drove it. porsche is smart. i wonder how these things are selling. this is probably one of the few true "SPORTS" utility vehicle.
I'm sure it's great on the road and will probably knock the ***** off my socks. But I still like to try to forget that even Porsche has an SUV on the market nowadays.
I just think I'd prefer a true body-on-frame truck for a tow vehicle.
