very frustrated with my stereo
i reset my ecu and in the process i locked out my stereo. and acura said it would cost me 70 bucks to get the code, so today i wrote out at least 100 diffrent codes and went through the process of trying them all, 3 codes at a time, to no luck, not the right code yet. does anyone have any ideas other than giving in to the dealership?
your dealer is just looking for a cheap excuse to make a few extra dollars... you shouldn't have to pay them any money... i would suggest bypassing them somehow if possible... i had the same trouble down here in the atlanta area with mine

mine didn't have it in there...if you talk to the service department at your dealership, and they're the ones giving you a hard time...and want you to come up there, make up some bullshit about how your license is suspended (too bad mine really is) or complain to someone high up. if you annoy the hell out of them enough, they'll cave empty handed.
yeah im gonna go talk to the guy that sold me the car and tell him that i probaly wont be trading with them if they cant even do something that simple for free with my current car.(even though i will not trade this car!)
but if anyone has any suggestions about how to unlock it my self then still tell them too please!

oh man...don't even bother trying to go about the hit or miss way...that's so nerve-racking...you have 6 possibilities for each 6 number "slot". 6 to the 6th power gives you 46,656 possible combinations, and with disconnecting and reconnecting the battery every 3 times would make me want to blow my brains on the pavement after 10 or so times. your dealership's a dick. burn the place down. slit some throats. murder their children....no, only kidding. it's 2:00 in the morning and i tend to lose some sanity this late at night after working all day. sorry. just hammer out the details with the dealer. they'll have to cave. they know they're trying to con someone out of money. prove to them you're wiser than that.

My Acura dealer has given me my code several times over the phone since I bought my car in 97 . . . that is really odd though. Try calling up the Acura dealership the car was originally purchased, even if you aren't the original owner, they should be able to help you out.

That is highway robbery on the dealers' part. I would suggest going over the dealer's head and contacting acura direct. I called no more than a week ago for my code, and the guy in the service dept put me on hold for like a minute came back on and gave me the code.

Mine was inside the glove compartment. Might want to check there, too.

On my 99 GSR my code was on the inside of the fusebox in the engine bay. I was also lucky enough to find my little business card in the owners manual that had the code as well. As some said, look inside the glove box. Never seen it there but heard it might be. If all fails, call your Acura or if they are dicks find another one anywhere and call them. Usually if you just give them a VIN on your car, even if you didn't buy it from there, they will find out the code. Don't let your local Acura **** you in the ***.
i would try looking on the ashtray thats where mine was my dealership try the same thing with me but the guy told me to try the fuse box under the hood and the ashtray but im a lasy *** and didnt want to open the hood so i tried the ashtray and they it was - good luck

The only way you're going to be able to get the code is by taking out the radio and giving the serial # printed on it to a dealer (or just bring the radio to the dealer). You have to bring your car's vin with you for verification. They have to give you the code free of charge if you already have the correct numbers. They're charging you 70 in labor for removing the radio. The parts guy if he's nice can get you the code also. I'm sure any honda or acura dealership can find the code for your radio.

I would guess the numbers are randomly generated, and not like the same for certain years. Writing out codes would be pointless. He'd be just as good guessing himself.
