Default HCP shift linkage help needed...really notchy.

I've got a 92 b18a in my 89 crx dx. My problem is that my shifts are really notchy and temperamental, not always wanting to go into gear smoothly. I tested this tranny and stuff in another car before it was in mine, and it shifted really smooth. Does anyone know a way to make the shifts smoother? It's a newer non-adjustable HCP linkage. I made sure the bolt holding the shifter wasn't too tight, also. Thanks

what tranny, and what fluid. try using honda manual fluid or even gm synchro mesh and see if that fixes the problem if not its the linkage or the synchros

ys1 tranny, honda MTF. the synchros are fine because i drove it before i put it it my car and they felt perfect. could it be that the linkage is a little too long/short?

Does it do it when the car is off and when it's on, or only when it's on? I am having troubles getting into gear and it's only when the car is on.

i just thought of something when i was replying to another post, what mounts do u have, i wouldnt suggest that you have the same linkage for the same brand of mounts you have, because every mounts kit places the engine a little differently.

also make sure the bushings are good and that you have the metal sleeves in the shifter bushing where the bolts go through into the bottom of the floor.
