How do you know if your radiator fans are working?

How do you know if your radiator fans are working?
I don't ever recall hearing the fans, and whenever I have my hood open with the car on, I never see it spin. I replaced my radiator with a oem showa radiator 3 months ago.

they should click on eventually (I forget when).

i was wondering this too a while back.........i popped up my hoood after a drive, and just was tinkering around in the engine bay w/ the car running...eventually the fan kicked on for a bit.
