I was on my way to visit my friend... For local ppl, this occured on Kelly Drive heading towards the Art Museum.

Its a 2 lane road, i am on the left lane. The other guy on the right. There is no barrier between me and the oncoming traffic heading the opposite direction. I went through the S turn. I wasn't pushing it, just driving normal. Coming out of the second half of the S turn. The other guy's car start coming into my lane and then taps my fender (right where the door begins). My car starts drifting towards the oncoming traffic. The rear came lose and i was well into doing a 180. I pull the e-brake and floored it. I got out of the oncoming traffic's way but then i couldn't get myself out of the 180. The 180 turned into a 90 and i was sliding through 2 lanes for a good 250 feet. My tire marks were very long. At the same time my front was in the stone guard rail. The guy said he never hit me and that i just lost control. right now its an insurance fight. I use that road everyday to go to school. I could have done it faster (i have before) so how could i have lost control. Very pissed off but more so upset. I just got my R 5 months ago.

If he tapped you he should have your paint on his car and vice versa. Do you see it on your car or his?

he had a 97 cadillac seville, which has the metal front bumper with rubber. so when he tapped my passenger side it didn't leave much of a mark. you can only see a rub. his driver side headlight was in pieces so some damage had to be done to his left front.

That's what I was going to say too. Did you look at his car? It should be pretty clear even if it was a light touch onto another black car. But then, of course, you have to prove that he hit you and not that you hit him.

the EXACT same thing happened to me. someone overshot a turn, went into my lane, snipped my front end, and caused me to spin out, and no matter how hard i tried to correct, i ended up tapping the retaining walls... not much damage, but still sucked ***... and the lady who hit me kept on going...

hope you're alrite, and fix up the car! type-r front end, maybe?

 

yeah, it doesn't look too bad. glad you are okay.

JDM front end time lucky foo.. sorta lucky.

I feel your pain, hope your ok. Maybe alittle money and time invested and you'll have a jdm front end. Good luck, hope everything works out to your benefit.

Why did you pull the e brake?

 

No frame damage, I assume? That probably means its not totalled then..? Cool! Get that JDM front! Glad you were ok, the car is always repairable/replaceable..

 

e-brake?? e-gads!

 

If the tail came out, then flooring the gas will get it back...but if you are already doing a 180, the only thing left for you to do is flooring the brake, but no locking up the rear with e-brake which should rotate the rear even more. Hence ppl drift their FWD with e-brake, to get the tail out.

But then again, I am not there and don't know the situations and variables, so I'm just talking out of my ***

If it's just the aesthetic parts, it's definetly fixable for under $3,000.
