Default baffled valve cover??? necessary???

i understand that the OEM vtec valve covers are "baffled". is this necessary? I am considering the Moroso valve cover due to the accessability of the cam gears without cutting the cover. why wouldnt it also be baffled? its also cut "3/8" of an inch for more hood clearance. does this pose an issue with performance?

thank you for your time and experience.

the baffling in a valvecover is for proper function of the crankcase ventalation system (PCV)

it keeps oil from being directly sucked in from the valve, and instead the vapors get trapped more or less in the baffled area of the valve cover.

just talked with a tech from honda. he says these covers would only benefit if u trailer your car to every event. and for a few runs on the drag strip. guess ill get another.

the moroso cover is nice in that you dont have to cut the tb cover or remove the vc each time you tune or adjust. the tb cover is removeable. great idea if the baffles were in place.

Just get your stock cover cut by PMP Designs. They did mine, and it came out PERFECT.

When you call, talk to Mondo.
