I recently went to the track and just wondering why mph are different

01 ITR
skunk 2 stage II cams
skunk 2 springs&retainers
skunk 2 cam gears
vafc
jdm 4-1 header
aem cai

The elevation here is 3900 ft
I ran it a few times and best runs were
14.6 @ 93
14.6 @93 then I ran it for the last time and ran a
14.7@96 mph. just wondering why my time was slower and mph were faster. Am I doing something wrong? My 60' were 2.1 every time

 

Heat outside? Anything inside the car to weigh it down?

 

No, it was actually pretty cool outside. And yes there is full interior.
I also heard dropping the ac and power steering would help. Any experience with that?

 

My guess would be elevation. What are your shift points?

did you tune your car on the dyno? skunk stage 2's are not drop in cams like stage 1s..

 

Yes, everything has been tuned @jotech 181 whp.

Try driving with the elevation here.
WRX with down pipe and exhaust are running 15.5's

 

Get an exhaust and Falken tires.

If WRX are running 15's, then your times are fine (very good, actually) for the elevation. Good job

"corrected" comes to a 13.9 @ 101 which still seems a bit slow, but much better, I would think you would be making more than 181whp
