Default testing water pump??

any way to tell if a water pump is good or not once it is out of the engine??

Recently swapped engines and replaced the pump, but wanted to figure out if the old one was worth keeping as a spare..

91 Civic Si w/ DOHC ZC

thanks

It's mostly just a visual inspection for cracks or wear, and make sure the impeller spins freely w/out leaks.
