Default Balance and tuning potential

I am looking to begin my first project car when I get back from Iraq, and I have spent this whole time over here thinking about what to do. I have a 1997 accord ex, AT and Before I left, I wanted to do a h22a/prelude tranny swap. But I was seeing that all the cars that seem to be in the track scene are all civics integras corrolas sentras etc. so I was wondering just how well will my accrd be when I m done? I want to build a fun car with goode handling and nice fun power. Maybe a track day every now and then. But I dont want to waste my time if the accord is a waste. I got a great deal on the car and paid cash. It is my only incentive to keep the car. that and theres just too many civics on the road right now. any help is appriciated.

Accords have good potential when coupled with a great suspension package.. An Accord just won a USTCC tournament recently (https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=588937) .. If you want great power.. definetly go with a h22a swap and some boost..
