Went to the track on sunday....
I went to the track on sunday with my 00 civic hatch for the first time. I ran of bfg drag radials and I still couldnt get the car to hook out of the hole. There was also a really strong head wind which affected alot of peoples mph. Heres what the slip reads:
r/t .553
60 2.362
330 6.104
1/8 9.231
mph 79.01
1000 11.941
1/4 14.262
mph 98.08
My setup consists of this:
97 Jdm type r motor
Jdm 4-1 header
Clutchmasters stage 3 clutch and aluminum flywheel
Full 2 1/4 exhaust with no cat (or muffler at the track)
Aem Cai
B&m Fpr and gauge
Vafc
Obd-2 to 0bd-1 conversion with pyr chip
I dyno tuned the car last wednesday and I ended up with 184 whp and 125 ft/pnds. The car currently weighs 2530 with me in it (Thats semi gutted with me in it, Im 180 pounds). My question is does the car have the potential for 13s? Im a little frustrated right now becuase I though it did. I just picked up a brand new set of m/t et drags (14/22/8) and Im gona head back on wednesday. Any help/comments are welcome. Thanks.

With a better launch the car should run 13's easily I ran 13's with a US ITR motor and a small DC 4-2-1 header (open) with my BFG's 13.63@101 with about 165-168whp on a local dynojet
I would think its just a matter of learning the launch....17psi on the BFG's 7K clutch dump and smooth quick shifts.....after cam gear tuning and a DC JDM 4-1 I am making +18hp and tq at 5200 and 175 peak with 129ftlbs so with your compression and whp you should have no problems running 13.50's or better with a 2.0' 60 and maybe 13.20's on slicks

Hey just keep practicing .. I can tell by looking at your 60 foot times. all you need is a better launch and you should hit it no problem... high 13s easy..

The car is a 00 civic hatch. T.O streetracer tuned my car for me, so he can vouch.
I think I just need to get used to the car. I owned a talon tsi awd before this, so launching wasnt an issue ( I hit consistant 1.8s 60 ft.s on a street tire). Im going back to cayuga tomorow night with my slicks. Hopefully the wind will die down, becuae I should be able to hook with the et drags. Ill let you all know how it goes

What pressure in the drag radials? What RPM? Drop or Slip the clutch? Practice practice practice. Find out what works and what doesn't. You've got potential for high 13's. Good luck.
I was poping the clutch at 5500 rpm with the slicks at 16psi. The tires would spin and I kept trying to get into the throttle gradually as the car got more traction. The car would acutally spin into second with the radials
