Default Shiftlinkage advice.....

So I have been having issues shifting, grinding gears and basically eating up my tranny... I thought this was all due to my Tenzo SS that came with the shiftlinkage that I bought. I was told when I was buying it that it was made my Hasport and that it would fit perfect. Well I dont know how I made the linkage fit the first time when I did the swap but I did... Then while drag racing, the shifter falls down and hits the EXH pipe... It came out of the rubber peice that it stuck through... I thought this was mostly due to the fact that I have a SS.... But I have come to realize that its the linkage and I believe that it is not a Hasport one... How can I tell if it is? Im going to have about half an inch added to it, should make it fit perfect... Just wondering if I need to add to the selector rod as well as the linkage.... thanks

Hasport linkage says "Hasport" engraved on the bottom of the linkage right near the weight, that connects to the bearing on the shifter.

Um, I use to grind with my old linkage. But it's gone now with the Hasport even tho it sits the same with my DC SS, but I also have the factory bitch pin installed tho too, which makes the shifts more accurate.

Make sure you don't have a screw holding your linkage to your transmission with a nut, and you have the factory bitch pin installed.

Hmm..

Check first to see if it's a Hasport. I had an AzRacing, and grinded 3rd with slow shifts, and fast shifts. Went with Hasport, all gone. - Altho, my shifter sits a little to the upper right a tad, but I have Place Racing Mounts. I heard the Place Linkage sux0rs.
