Default Mugen springs on stock R? Which Mugen suspension is best?

Will the mugen spring set go on a stock ITR suspension setup? I am looking into my handling options and was just curious. Also looking into their complete suspension packages. If I upgrade I want a true race suspension, but I don't want to have to permanently lower the R. I would appreciate any opinions on a setup that will give a noticeable difference in handling without effecting ride height.

Stock ride height is set for comfort and clearance from road debris. It also has a higher CG and roll center than a lower position which usually decreases handling performance.

You say you want a "true race suspension" but want to have stock ride height. In my books that's an oxymoron, but you could always get an N1 race suspension and set the spring perches to the "highest" settings which should reproduce stock ride height for you (and that nasty fender gap).

The Mugen springs are meant for a short damper. They can be probably made to fit the R, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Have you looked into Tein suspensions? The HA and HR setups might be what you are looking for. Try Godspeed Motorsports.

If you want a "true race suspension", then don't plan on driving the car on the street. And if that is the case, ride height should not be an issue. The Mugen N1 dampers are "true" race dampers, thus requiring very high spring rates. Right now, I am running 600lb front and 900lb rear springs on my Mugen N1's. These spring rates are the lowest recommend rates for the dampers, and they are bumpy as hell driving through the pits, let alone on the street.

If you would like a great, dampening-adjustable street/track setup, then I would recommend going with the Mugen Lowdown package. I used the Lowdown setup for a year before switching over to the Mugen N1's.
