I have a ZC and i ordered the VW studs that supposidly work for the ZC. There is a slight problem with them though. If i tighted the stud all the way into the block and put the head on, when the nut is put on a tightened it will only catch about 3/4 of the bolt. But if i back the stud out so the nut cancatch all of the stud thread it'll be a little loose in the block. What the hell should i do????????

 

not use the VW studs. seriously. I'm about to put ARP studs in my ZC and I'm going to use the b16a ones. There is proof that they work. you do have to modify one to make them work right, but other then that they should be right. I'll find out soon. really though, you shouldn't use the VW ones. I don't think you can get the nut on far enough to be safe.

 

I've heard plenty of people vouch for the VW ones so that's why i bought them, it's not like i can return them now. They're actually the same exact lenth as the stock bolts, but since there studs they go deeper into the hole. I asked Tony1 about my dilemma, he said as long as the bottom thread i fully engaged in the block that's fine, it doesn't have to be tight. Torqueing at the top will keep anything from backing out or getting loose.
