Default 92 DX swap into 91 HF CRX

I usually post in the EG forum but I have a situation with a CRX.
My boy has a 91 HF. His timing belt busted and we trying to get his car going. He doesn't have much cash.
I have the d15 out of my 92 dx in the garage just sitting. I told him he can have it.
Questions are:
1. Can we use the motor AND tranny together from the DX? I believe the DX tranny is shorter geared than the HF. Is there a way to adapt the clutch linkage?
2. Which ECU should we use? The HF has 4 injectors...same as the DX so does it matter? All I can think of is maybe O2 sensor differences.
3. Which axles / mounts to use, DX or HF?

Thanks for the help.

Just drop the motor in. Should bolt right up to his exsisting tranny. You will have to use the HF distributor, Intake Manifold, and exhaust manifold so it should be plug and play. No need to change ECU's. As far as the tranny the 92 has a hydraulic clutch and the HF is a cable. So it' would be more sensible to use the HF trans. I'm not sure if the is a cable to hydro conversion kit yet. Good luck hope this helped

He is wanting to use a tranny with shorter gears. The HF has longer gears for better gas mileage. If we can't use the DX then he'll probably try to find an SI tranny.
We were hoping to use the DX intake manifold also. It has a larger TB and a bigger plenum. I would think we can keep the HF injectors and fuel rail and mount them on the DX intake. We are probably getting a header and scrapping the HF exhaust manifold with the converter in it.
I can see using the HF dist and ECU, that makes sense now that you mentioned it.
Thanks for the input.
