the car started doing this last night after work. when i turned it on theoil light turned off and slowly dimmed on again,it then flickered and would stay on for a moment then turn off again and flicker on and off. its really wierd. the car has oil in it. what could it be? car is a 90 integra ls

 

Too much wear on the bearings. It can't hold oil pressure any more.

 

what do you meen to much wear on the bearings? cant it just be something simpler such as the oilpressure sender being messed up or the oil pump going bad?

 

first check to se that adiquate oil is still in the engine. THen test the sender unit.

 

thats how it was on my old Maxima...when oil was low the light would faintly blink a few times...turns out there was a hole in the pan and oil had leaked out while driving! JB Weld time!

 

yea my car sometimes does that also but its not the case this time. i have more then enough oil and the light is still coming on. its really strange.
