Default Installed J's Racing CF Intake with no problems

Hey here's a pic of my engine bay with the new intake...I know some of the people had fitment problems with rubbing against the strut bar. Mine fit just fine...enjoy the pic. OBTW...I love the sound and the gains from the J's. VTEC screams!!! Eng mods: J's racing cf intake, JDM 4-1 header,Carsound Cat,5 Zigen fireball exhaust, VAFC.

Do you have anything else to say about the gains you got from this?

Earlier I had a Ractive shortram intake system. It was ok, but i got a nasty torque dip between 5800-6500 rpm, which really made the car slower. Especially when tracking. It didn't feel lik vtec hit before 6500rpm. Do you get this dip with the J's, or anything similar?

I'm just curious is anybody has tried to rig up a little cold air induction to the J's racing intake....kinda like taking the AEM pipe and cutting it just before the J's filter????
I was thiking of doing this....

has anyone actually dyno tested this thing against a stock setup, or an icebox? I find it hard to believe that an intake that sucks hot air from that location would create any noticeable gains.

hrmmmm.... good link - forgot about that test.
Seems that the J's is pretty decent - I wonder if there's any difference with the hood shut and the car moving...

I kinda feel the same way about this, even taking the dyno results into account. How does this compare to the AEM when the car is moving and the hood is closed? The J's has been out long enough now for someone to have drag raced both of them. How'd you do? Most importantly, did your trap get faster?

I can appreciate the throttle response you'd get for auto-x but what about you road racers? Have you switched to the J's with positive feedback? Inquiring minds want to know Thanks guys.

All good questions. I have yet to hear a complete review on this intake from a drivers standpoint.

personaly.. the throttle response was a definite turn on. Makes good mid range and dosn't lose at all up top. I have nothing but good things to say about this.
and you don't have to worry about sucking up water like you do with a CAI.

its grounded to the valvecover, not the head. move the wire over one to the right on the valvecover and youll be straight
