Woke up this morning and my R in the garage is gone. Garage Opener
is broken. It was stolen between the time of 3:00 am and 7:00 am.
I am located in Toronto Area.

I don't expect I will be able to find it, but just want everyone else in the
GTA area be more vigilant.

I won't buy another ITR even though my insurance will get me another one
without any extra cost. I guess my R addiction is over and will never
get another R in my life time.

Damn...This is getting out of hand. I think we need to mobilize a task force to deal with the amount of R's being stolen.

Rex I can't believe this! I'm sure you are still in shock! I am the closet R to you, since we pretty much live on the same street, I am very very worried now. My only protection is a video alarm system in the garage, with a motion sensor, plus the fact that I have three cars parked outside of the garage (a would be thief would have to drive one off which is a lot of commotion. And my bed room is right above the garage.

How did you not hear anything that late at night? There would definitely have been noise!

This is brutal. I dont understand why people cant just leave your sh$t alone.

 

How many ITRs were shipped to northamerica since 97, around 3,500? And around 1 is stolen per week(that we know of)? Almost sounds like someone should call the FBI.

 

Didn't hear any noise at all. Yes, I do live in Mississauga. TorontoR, I think blocking your own car is a good way to protect it. Anyway, Cop just came and
filed a report.

I am trying to be very optimistics and trying very hard to forget about it
and start searching for my next vehicle. It still hurts deeply inside from
time to time though.

 

Wow Im am sorry to hear about this, I was actually going to drive up to Toronto this Fall, but now I'm starting to Worry. Its so sad that every week I am hearing of another ITR being stolen and this is Only on Honda Tech Imagine what it must be like nationwide, If every ITR Owner was on this board we would probably have a post every day about an ITR missing in action

I know it sucks but Dont let them get you if thieves can steal your stuff and make you not replace it in fear of it being Stolen then they have won...

If we are averaging one per week just on this board, there are probably several per week being stolen since only a small percentage of R owers are here. I feel for you guys, but luckily Tampa seems fairly safe. I've left my car at the mall with the windows down once for a couple of hours and not so much as a stolen piece of change. Plus I've come home late a few times and left a door open all night...

 

You can thank the HYBRID scene for that.

 

You need one of those things that shuts your car and locks the driver in 30 seconds after its been hotwired, I saw it on a show one time!

hey man it just occured to me...that car was IN the garage..which means it was someone who KNOWS you have an R..i won't be surprised that the thief (thieves) was somone you KNOW. I meanthink about it..who would BREAK INTO someone HOUSE to steal a vehicle
